Lately I’ve been secretly obsessing about Nicholas Kirkwood, well isn’t everyone? After I’ve seen Mary-Kate Olsen rock the “AW801” style from the Autumn/Winter ‘08 collection back in October I’ve been dreaming about a pair. My friend sent over a link with an article and a sneak peek of Kirkwood’s latest creations and Q&A via Dazed & Confused, I think I’m going to need to save up my pennies to buy a pair or two from his S/S ‘09 collection- simply amazing! Back in November, Style Bubble posted two hi-res images from the collection which got me going ‘gaga’ for the pair with the pearls- so pretty and sexy! Also, did you see the fierce shoes that he designed for Rodarte’s Spring 2009 RTW collection? Damn the gold/white pair with chains and a cracked golden heel is crazy, I love it!

In the Q&A, Nicholas Kirkwood talks about his inspiration for S/S ‘09, “I wanted the collection to be bold and saturated in its colour, graphic, sharp in its lines, abstract in its shapes, aggressive yet very feminine and refined.” The kind of women he sees wearing his shoes are, “A sharp, feminine woman with a defined vision of herself. This is the woman who I aspire to dress. Carine Roitfeld, Cecilia Dean, Daphne Guinness and woman of that ilk. Chic women with an aggressive attitude toward their fashion and style, who are decadent in their character, and who make it look easy.”
