Update: McQ Alexander McQueen for Target

Having a high fashion brand doesn’t necessarily make you well-known across the globe, but having a capsule collection with a mass retailer like Target will definitely make you a household name. According to NYT, that is why Alexander McQueen designed a collection for Target. The highly anticipated McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection is slated to release in March and the “clothes are inspired by rocker-chick bands and look a bit like something Debbie Harry would wear to the grocery store.” Graphic tees feature images of Liela Moss, the lead singer of Duke Spirt. Price points are more expensive for the McQ collection, from $19.99 to $129.99 and will only be offered in 250 Target stores and Target.com (that’s how I’ll be shopping), as well as a two-day preview in Manhattan, starting Valentine’s Day February 14th at 330 West Street. Whoa, I can already foresee the Manhattan location being a madhouse for the two-day preview- get your claws out! Thanks to reader lucy92 for the tip!

“I’m bringing my culture to them,” Mr. McQueen said. “I wouldn’t ever design a collection where I’d think about what people would wear in the Midwest.”
