New York Fashion Week has been showing at Bryant Park for 15 years, but starting next year (2010), it is supposedly moving to Lincoln Center according to two designers who typically show in the park. The reason for the move is because of “complaints from the park management that the invitation-only shows had grown too large and were restricting public access to the park. It is not clear whether IMG hopes to recreate the tents on the plaza at Lincoln Center or use nearby buildings for additional space, but a feasibility study done in 2006 suggested staging tents on opposite sides of the New York State Theater with a corridor winding between them, meaning guests might have to walk the equivalent of a city block between each show.” via NYT This season marks my second season covering New York Fashion Week, its sad to see it move but what can we do. We’ll await for the final announcement. Do you want New York Fashion Week it move? 2 Responses to “New York Fashion Week to Move to Lincoln Center in 2010” |

SURE simply because my high school is RIGHT NEXT TO LINCOLN CENTER. It would be nice to be able to stop by and catch the scene right after dismissal
And besides, Lincoln Center is awesome, too you know…And its new building construction looks amazing and badass. There isn’t much of a loss involved. 15 years is not that long
