The 2009 CFDA award nominees has just been announced, this year’s awards is scheduled for June 15th so we’ll have to wait till then to find out who wins what. But Marc Jacobs has already won the International Award for his work at Louis Vuitton and nominated for two more categories, and Anna Sui will be given the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. After seven years at the New York Public Library, the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards will this year move to Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. First Lady Michelle Obama will also be honored with her style choices and penchant for young, up-and-coming talent, with this year’s Board of Director’s Special Tribute (perhaps she’ll make an appearance, let’s hope!). via WWD Check out the nominees after the jump…

The awards ceremony will take place at the venue’s theater space, followed by a dinner in the theater lobby. I hope Marc Jacobs wins for every category that he’s nominated for! i♥him!
hold on, band of outsiders for top menswear award ?they showed 18 uncohesive looks for both collections. no runway theme, terrible model casting and styling… this is a tragedy for american design. and why would tim hamilton be nominated three times in a roll!!
the nominators should have access to all serious collections shown in new york, and not just who has the strongest PR.
at last, how does someone of incredible talent like Ralph Rucci never been recognized?
be fair, educate yourself more about fashion design before you nominate the least talented.
