Jeffrey Campbell Mel Studded Rhinestone Sandals

For those that have been lusting over the Balmain Studded Crystal Sandals here’s another alternative aside from the Zara and Aldo pairs I have. This past Monday, March 23rd, when I went to Lord & Taylor to do something for them (pics to come) I came across these Jeffrey Campbell Mel Studded Rhinestone Sandals. They’re slightly different from the Zara and Aldo shoes I have, they’re actually a combination of the two. These are hot, everyone was digging them when I put them on! I’m thinking if I should get these too, the blinged up ankle straps on these are pretty damn amazing. I have to admit I’m quite obsessed with studs at the moment. The sandals are selling fast, they’re currently available at Karmaloop.com ($150.00) and Solestruck.com ($169.95).

What do you think, should I get them or not? Which pair do you like more?

oh they’re so beautiful! the jeffrey campbells are definitely the best version, you should get those! sadly they are not made in a size 11 apparently, otherwise i would snatch them up myself!

  • SOS! says:

    hot daym!
    xx-LJ from SOS!

  • Eileen says:

thanks for your message! these sandals are the dopest, love the ankle straps!

  • kei says:

I got them, I think they are superior to the Aldo and Zara versions (no offense to your acquisitions, I loved those too). I posted a picture of them upon reception (http://keipopnation.blogspot.com/2009/03/jeffrey-campbell-mel.html); I haven’t worn them beyond prancing about in my apartment, but so far they seem comfortable and the shiny-glitteryness is awesome! “Jewelry for your feet” indeed.

  • Leigh says:

This is tough, but I just bought the Aldo ones and I think I love the height of that heel much more than these. But they still look fantastic though!

  • Rupini says:

why do you need to get a third pair of the balmain look-alikes? i’ve been madly in love with the zara ones and couldn’t afford them, ditto for the aldo ones. you’ve got both, and now the $150 jeffrey campbell ones are out of reach for many of us, and you’re going to get them as well? i don’t really know what income you’re dealing with, but in these times a lot of us have been forced to go to payless and target to get out shoe fixes. to get a third pair of the same type shoes just seems wasteful to me — and none of the high-street versions are cheap by any means. i just now that if I had $600 to blow, i wouldn’t do so on 3 pairs of identical shoes. it’s a bit too excessive and in poor taste, considering there are people without jobs or homes right now.

i’d say these are my 2 cents on the matter, but i’m counting my pennies, so i can’t even afford that.

Jeffrey Campbell makes hot shoes–I got the Givenchy style ones and when they’re on it’s hard to tell the difference.

With this style I think BeBe did a better job because the heel looks higher and not as stocky. It’s the BeBe Marianna Platform Sandal in “black” at their site and they run in the same price range.

  • modelizer says:

these are a hot mess, I hated them in person a few months back in SF and think that the Zaras are better [even tough I think those look cheap, but then again the originals look cheap to me too, something just isn't resolved with this design]

  • Hey girl keep doing your thing because you’re killing them, these hataz need a doctor cuz they stay sick… another thing people should appreciate the fact that you are putting them on to these styles…ANYWAYS … umm I love these and you should go to bebe.com because they have the balmain look-alikes in black and white and they are FIERCEEEEEEEE !!!! I know you have 3pairs but hey ANOTHER PAIR OR 2 WON’T HURT for your collection… keep KILLIN IT ! “GET EM GIRL”

  • kayla says:

hot shoes!!! but i think i’ll settle for the aldo ones bc they’re cheaper..lol

  • nitro suxs says:

your such a greedy person. why would you get a 3rd pair of knock-offs? you should try to go green and stop being such a huge consumer of shit! how do you make so much $$?

  • lawren says:

hmm…the jeffrey campbell ones are ugly or maybe its just bc the models feet look so long, out of all of the fake Balmain’s I like the Zara pair bc the ones from Aldo just look cheap. i dnt know why you woud need all 3 but then again i do the same sometimes just bc i like certain items and its your $$$. whatever decision you make i know ur outfit will be mad fly w. them so who cares, lol.

  • Leann says:

Sigh~~ the sandals full of bling bling just scare me! not like it. I just thought our feet deserve more comforatable shoes because they bear our weight and brought us everywhere.

  • arisa says:

Bebe has the best version. They came out today and are completely sold out by the evening. They look EXACTLY like the Balmain’s. When I went to look at them they only had 2 sizes left, 5 and 10, but lucky for me I’m a 5.

  • arisa says:

Anyways there are a lot cheaper than the Zara ones – $160

  • arisa says:

The Jeffrey Campbell ones look bad because the heel is so low and would look disgusting on someone with big feet (like the model).

  • Ivy says:

I actually posted some Balmain look-alikes from Bebe on my blog, you should check them out if you’re interested. As for the Jeffrey Campbell ones, I’m not digging the heel.

  • Kate says:

I do agree that it is excessive to get three pairs of the same shoes. But if your credit card can deal with this, then knock yourself out.

  • slanelle says:

they’re great ! but i think i love the zara ones the most

  • kelly says:

I think the J.C looks the nicest out of the three! Although I do agree that buying three of the same kind of shoe is a bit too much, but it’s your own money and you can do whatever you want with it. Don’t let people make you feel bad for buying things that you want. You’re stimulating our economy! :)

  • retrogurl says:

First of all, I didn’t BUY the Aldo and Zara pairs- they were both gifts. Second, I didn’t buy these JC shoes neither- I was just thinking of getting them. But I did take all ur advices to not get another similiar pair, thanks!

  • S80 says:

grrl, i like these, but i found shoes accessories to be the key for dolling up the show game. boos & besitos have a cute alternative, using “corsages” for the shoe. they ain’t studs, but they’re damn cute.

and just to address the comments about being more thrifty, we can all cut back on our guilty pleasures, but i do it too- we all kinda do it, whether it is getting our nails did, endless shoe purchases, or like me, buying black clothes-tees, dresses, etc. i own too many black designs that are too similar, but it makes me feel damn sexy!

just my 2 cents, i don’t really judge cuz we all got something going on. in addition, we come to this site as a consumer, learning about products so it’s kinda the premise. don’t ya think? once again, just my 2 cents. ;)

  • lucy92 says:

if you want to try these on in person they have them at lf stores.

  • Anjli says:

I agree with the posters who think that the Zara version are the best. I received my Zara version (bought via eBay) last week, and they are gorgeous. I am actually shocked by the quality. I would say that they are nearly on par with Pedro Garcia shoes, also made in Spain. Check them out here: http://www.pedrogarcia.com/.

You really have to look at the details when assessing the quality of a product. I can’t speak for the Bebe, Aldo or Jeffrey Campbell versions, but on the Zara version, all the signs of a quality product are there. For example, the pyramidal studs are actually studded onto the straps – not glued or stitched – which results in a cleaner looking finish. Also, there is a soft, leather-like piece that covers the zipper on the inside of the heel so it does not chafe the skin. Also — and this is a fantastic idea that I’ve never seen any other designer or high street brand do — the sole of the shoe has a plastic covering on it, likely to protect the sole from wear while in store where people will be trying on the shoe. This ensures that the sole is as brand new as the rest of the shoe for the ultimate buyer. All the buyer has to do is remove the plastic from the sole.

In sum, I am truly impressed with the Zara sandals — I would actually consider buying other items from Zara in the future based on this single outstanding experience with one of their products.

  • lucy92 says:

thank you for your review anjli.

now if only the zara version were available!!

  • jasmine says:

wow all the hate. she said she is CONSIDERING getting these as well.
i think they are the best looking ones yet, too bad the bebe option is sold-out
looks like i won’t add these to my closet quite yet…

  • Phillip says:

    FAIL. That low ass heel!

  • inspiredlime says:

(wow, where to put in my 2 cents? everything has been said… and then some LOL)

first off, ick on the shoes. but that’s what you get when the real ones are just as bad. not feeling this look. it’s the opposite of fierce: it’s tacky. but for those of you who love it, rock on girlfriend!

second, as for all this buzz and hate. please don’t be THAT girl. like the one who decides (of her own free will) to go bar hopping with her girlfriends and then chides everyone for getting their buzz on. this website is obviously about products and shopping. please don’t vent ur issues here. yes, there are deeper issues than shoes going on in the world, but i don’t think this is the appropriate forum to discuss that. i don’t think all that rancor or hate is necessary. what will hard feelings accomplish anyways? that’s my thought. =)

  • erica says:

loving them when rihanna rockin them .

  • Nikki says:

The sole color on the Jefferey Campbell ones throw me off. I wish it was just plain black. The Zara ones are my favorite. They look damn near identical to the Balmain ones in my opinion.

  • Sammy says:

Sadly, not a fan of them!

  • alexa says:

hey which ones do you personally think look better? the zara ones or these?
please help im trying to decide
    :)

  • retrogurl says:

@alexa: its hard to decide for myself too haha..
