During lunch YM went by to check out the line outside of Topshop for me while I’m stuck at the office, the line was ridiculously long at 1pm. I guess everyone is taking an extra long lunch break today haha, did any of you guys call in sick or took a day off from school? It took him over 2 minutes to walk the entire line to get to the storefront. Madewell handed out coffee to shoppers waiting in line to “welcome their new neighbors”. The newly opened Topshop attracted many people, the end of the line started on Crosby Street (near Grand Street) and went around Broome Street and finally wrapped around half of Broadway. According to the security and the number of shoppers waiting, total wait time was approximately 2 hours to get into the store. Not sure how the line is right now but I assume it won’t be slowing down anytime soon, thank goodness I was able to shop yesterday! If you don’t want to wait, you can always check out my posts on Topshop from yesterday. Anyone waiting in line today? Enjoy and let me know what you end up getting! > Topshop / Topman Soho NYC Store [Full Look] > Topshop Soho NYC VIP Shopping Event [April 1] UPDATE: Just added some pictures of Sir Philip Green and Kate Moss at the Topshop Soho NYC opening! Kate was rockin’ a green dress from her Topshop collection, she looks fab as usual. Love her! More pics after the jump…

How exiting! I wish I lived in NY.
I got in line at the corner of grand st and crosby at 12:45pm and got into the store at 2:45pm, but the wait wasn’t too bad. The staff gave out water and extra gift cards and stuff which was really nice. The weather was great and it was kool seeing everyone in their cute fashionista outfits.
However, I now see that there was no real point in going so early (or missing my 2pm class); the clothes weren’t really running out and cashier lines were all really short. After 6 it might be another story.
In the end, I only got a black batwing shirt and black flats with gold straps. I got the student discount and had a $5 giftcard, but it still was alot of money. Still, i really <3 what i got.
I was there in the morning, and the main wait was just for the store to open. I thought everything was really well organized (the yummy jam + cookies were a nice touch!). From the Kate Moss collection, I picked up the stripe flower dress (sold out online), keyhole body con dress and broderie anglais sundress. From the general line, I picked up the ostrich feather mini + the sequined top that went with it (displayed in the front of the store). The store was really well-stocked. I don’t think there’s a huge rush to get over there, I’m sure they’ll bring in new merch frequently. It was, however, fun to see all of the festivities + check out how great many of the folks in line were dressed! : )
^student discount? woah they do that???
@ ooo: yeah they have a 10% student discount for a year.
I wish I could get my hands on those Emma Cook for Topshop boots. The store opening in New York is a total disadvantage to us living on the west coast, I’m feeling huge jealously. haha
hi! i waited in line for 2 hours today, but i was a little bit underwhelmed by the selection and quality of goods at the store. then, when i saw the prices, i started to cringe. i am used to getting stuff like this at H&M, F21, and Zara — for much less! i saw a cute necklace, just like one at H&M, but it was $60!!!
the shoes were great, i have to say. a lot of girls were going nuts over the acid yellow patent platform pumps. i got a pair of the taupe gucci platform knockoffs and a pair of black plaftorms — but they were $145 each and i am having serious buyer’s remorse. the 10% student discount helped, but i think i may just go back next week to return them. i can use that money and put it toward a good h&m/zara shopping trip.
i noticed that, in the store, women weren’t checking out with a lot of stuff. i saw plenty of girls with just one item (like a black tank top), and many piles of clothes dumped over chairs and tables. the kate moss stuff was fully stocked. i dunno, i was just expecting much more of a bargain and i think many others did, too.
Got there at 4. Took me about 20-30mins to get in. I had my ipod with me so the wait was quick for me.
The shoes look great but I don’t have the budget for them. Besides, I seldom wear high heels. I think a lot of the stuffs there are overprice for the poor quality of the fabrics. I like a few sundresses but they are all about 135ish. H&M has similar sundresses for much better prices. I think I’ll be patient and wait for things to go on sale.
P.S. The free t-shirt is huge….
As a euro folk who’s craving to have her hands on those emma cook crepe ankle boots, I wanted to know if anyone can tell me their price in $…
Thanks for the help
