Back in September last year we first reported about the Prada Transformer project in Seoul, South Korea, last night the 160-ton steel structure with a white polyvinyl chloride membrane Transformer opened to VIPS and celebrities. The Transformer “is a tetrahedron structure in lieu of a theater that will accommodate cultural, artistic and fashion events Prada is organizing. The project is led by Rem Koolhaas together with associate Kunlé Adeyemi and design architect, Alexander Reichert.”  Inside the Transformer currently about 100 skirts is on display on a hexagon floor plan which is part of the “Waist Down” exhibit which ends on May 24th. Then “the structure will be picked up and rotated to create a rectangle, which will show movies selected by the Mexican film director Alejandro González Iñárritu from June 26 to July 12. Art will then be shown when the structure is rotated again to create a floor plan in the form of a cross. Finally, the Transformer is picked up once again and rotated to form a circle for a fashion show. All shows are open to the public and free of charge.” If you’re in Seoul, Korean definitely swing by to check it out! via WWD
