Last night I was honored to be invited by Coty to be their guest at the Coty-DKMS 3rd Annual Linked Against Leukemia Gala. The special evening was held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Mario Cantone hosted the event, he was really funny and kept the night alive, this year Joe Uva, CEO of Univision Communications Inc. was honored with the Metchild Harf Award. Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Vera Wang, Betsey Johnson and Rachel Zoe were in attendance too. Musical performances by Cooper Boone, K’naan and Jazmine Sullivan (I shot a video of her performing and Rihanna was dancing to her music, 0:42- peep below). In honor of the Coty-DKMS Linked Against Leukemia partnership, the Empire State Building lit up the skies in red and white last night by Kylie Minogue. This was my first black tie event and I didn’t know what to expect, Cipriani lived up to my expectations and I felt like I was in a movie last night. I had great company, great food, an enjoyable and memorable night. I was so glad I was able to attend this special day with all the wonderful people in attendance. For my Twitter followers, you guys already know I was excited about last night, especially when I passed by Kylie Minogue and she complimented my mini top hat. Kylie was super sweet about it, I was all smiles. Then the highlight of the night was meeting Rihanna. I’m a huge fan of hers and was so happy that she was so nice and approachable. I normally don’t get nervous around celebs, not even when I met Ashley Olsen but it was different with Rihanna. She was dressed in an all Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 ensemble I was jumping in joy (inside) when I saw her, I asked her for a picture and she asked me where I got my mini black top hat. I was so happy and told her it was from H&M, it sure is cute. She couldn’t believe it was from H&M but still loved it, after a small chat we took a photo- mission accomplished! I really don’t want you to get offended by my comment because i really do like your blog, but lately it seems like u post pics of celebrities more than what u use to do years ago, restaurant reviews, chicks n kicks, and all the other fun stuff. Don’t get me wrong some if it is still here but a lot of times it comes off as you showing off even when you don’t mean it that way.

I agree with michele a little. I’m a huge fan of your blog, and have been for years..and its great that you’re moving to bigger things..but I def see that lately, its all about all the free stuff u get (which u ALWAYS mention in your outfit posts with “courtesy of…”), and all the events you go to…definately get the feeling that you’re showing off. I still love your blog, but I miss the old times when u seemed more down to earth…and had restaurant reviews..and when u actually talk about stuff you bought..not only about “limited edition” stuff that u got for free…but..again, I still enjoy your blog. Congrats on all the success..

The tophat was a nice unique touch. As for the people that say it is showing off, i don’t see it like that at all. I see it as being more proud of what she accomplished. Besides, why would you NOT blog about stuff like this?

WOW girl, i started to read your blog just recently, but you already gained my full attention and are the only one I am checking more than once a day! Girl, you rock and I am really happy for you with all those free stuff you are supplemented with and the ppl you meeting. I would not take it as a bad thing to mention it in your posts, more – it shows your respect and appreciation. and, overall, you doing such a great job with this blog that you do deserve it

You should learn how to pose better. Turn to one side and move one of your legs forward in front of you. You always have you stance with ur legs apart and facing the cam full frontal. Hope u dont take offense, you can just look a lot better if you did that.

I must admit I’m one of those fans who loved your older posts rather than what you have now. It just felt more down-to-earth and it was just something that I could relate to.

I agree with some of the other readers. It feels like the posts are always about you promoting something u got for free these days…I’ve been reading less and less than I used to…its a shame. This used to be my favorite blog…
First, I too have never commented on your site but I just have to say all the people saying negative things right now are jealous.
