On May 30, 2009, the second annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic will take place at Governors Island. Prince Harry is playing on one of the teams captained by Nick Roldan against Black Watch captained by Nacho Figueras (the new face of Ralph Lauren’s Polo fragrance). All the money raised will be going to American Friends of Sentebale, a charity that was co-founded by Prince Harry. I’m pretty excited about this event as I’ve never watched polo live, I’ll be going as a Veuve guest and will be getting some pre-match tips from a polo expert then have lunch in the VIP picnic area with a catered lunch and of course unlimited flowing Veuve Clicquot. Polo Style: Gentlemen are kindly requested to wear a suit and ladies their most daring hat! Sounds like a nice outing, now just thinking of what to wear… In honor of the upcoming event, Veuve Clicquot is giving away one (1) Veuve Clicquot Traveler Set + Blanket to one lucky nitro:licious reader! The Traveler Set is what the VIP picnic guests will get at the picnic lunch at the event, you too can be VIP! This giveaway is open to US residents and 21+ only. I would wear that cute little black hat that you have. IT would add sooo much interest to your outfit and give you an excuse to go and spend some time at your favorite hairdresser. I like to play on whatever attire I am requested to wear to events. I think the tiny hat will make you the talk of the day. Or Phillp Treacy for Ralph Lauren if all else fails. I mean who more understands the world of Polo than Ralph.

For this event I would most likely go for a Lauren Paper Straw Fedora if attending as a V.I.P
but usually I’m wearing a PINK PONY Logo Cap for polo events.

I have the perfect hat – a red straw, shaped ever so slightly like a cowboy hat with the rims up and black netting on the crown. It looks much better than my description -a combo of Pretty Woman, Ralph Lauren, and 4 Weddings and a Funeral – big sunglasses and a ruby red, gorgeous smile and red polished nails to hold a glass of the best champagne – Veuve Clicquot!

To be politically correct to both teams, i would wear ablack watch on my wrist and a bright yellow hat ( the color of the season and the color of veuve) accented in creme that was custom made to match the veuve travel case that I would carry as a purse. All trim would be in creme to continue the veuve theme.
