Gap Design Editions Khakis Collection In Store Event

This morning I went by the Gap at 54th & 5th Ave for the in-store event of the launch of the Gap Design Editions Khakis Collection. Alexander Wang, Albertus Swanepoel and Vena Cava’s Lisa Maycock and Sophie Buhai were there to meet-and-greet their fans at the store. I got there about 10:45am so there wasn’t a crowd outside but there were a bunch of shoppers inside shopping the collection and talking to the designers. I wasn’t there to shop since I already ordered what I wanted at gap.com before I went. I went to do a report for you guys and of course meet Alexander Wang (again), he’s a sweetie, super cute! And from previous experience, Gap sizing runs big, I had to get an XS in the jackets!

Did any of you guys buy anything from the collection?

More pics after the jump…

  3. lucy92 says:

very smart of you to get XS. the gap runs ludicrously large.

  4. celine says:

i ended up getting an XS in the long/blazer, a S in the moto, and 6′s in the two vena cava dresses. i ordered the blazers and the moto in both XS and S online just in case the stuff was gone by the time i got to the store, but now i guess i’m awash in alexander wangs! loves it!

So great that you got a picture with him! I just ran out and got the motorcycle jacket, they did not have an xs but I’m hoping the small will work – the fit is very boxy but I WILL make it work haha.

I got a XS in the long blazer b/c I felt that out of the two jackets, it had more a design element. I’m tired of the cropped moto jackets trend and I don’t really see Alex Wang when I see the moto jacket, meh to each their own. I really like both vena cava dresses a lot, but I got the zipper one b/c of the back design. I wish the neckline was lower, it would have been cute as a jumper too. The pants were not cute, I wish there was a cute skirt of some nature.

Great reporting, thanks for sharing! The Wangster is so adorable…

oh surely it’s a fruitful season for Alxander Wang. happy for him. he looks cute and a little shy in the ‘chatting up with him’ pic
also, love your outfit that day as well girl. so catch me^_^

  9. Liane says:

The short sleeve Vena Cava dress runs ridiculously small. I tried the 0 on today and I had a hard time putting it on and taking it off. So for those who like that one buy a size larger than you normally wear.

i dont’ understand why people can’t order their own sizes, these jackets are suppose to have a loose slouchy fit, not FITTED!!

  11. Lulagurl says:

I agree…I don’t think these jackets are meant to be worn so fitted. Lemme know how’d they fit on you cuz I think I’m smaller than u… So don’t know what size to get yet

  12. Bridget says:

Did ayone try the shorts on? They look cute in the picture!

  13. sarah says:

I’m happy you met the designers, your pics with them are awesome!

I bought the 2 jackets and the shorts and am intrigued by the pants! My coworker bought them and seems to love them. I like the long blazer better than the moto jacket, but the zipper on the blazer is a little tricky. The shorts are pretty comfy but flare out at the sides, though my friend said they look good from the back, so I was sold! The dresses ran a little small and since I’m not crazy about the design I passed on them.

I’m a huge fan of Vena Cava, and I believe Lisa’s last name is Mayock, not Maycock.
