On Friday, you’ve seen the Topshop Fall/Winter 2009 Horror Girls collection, now let’s take a look at the Marianne collection which is a take on vintage glamour fused with grunge. The collection takes inspiration from 70s groupies and has a dress-up box feel. Luxurious fabrics are given an antique finish; sequins are tarnished, faux furs appear matted and chunky knits are ragged and distressed. Heavily sequined dresses, harem trousers and high waist knickers are instantly made casual when paired down with oversized cardigans, whilst a slinky maxi dress in deep violet worn with a matted-looking Mongolian gilet becomes daytime wear. Extravagant mink like jackets (the black one is very much like my Elizabeth and James piece) and marabou boleros add opulence to high waisted denim flares and love-worn leather hotpants. Suede scarves, velvet belts and platform shoes made from panels of foil and mock snakeskin finish off the mixture of textures which is key to this trend. This color palette of dark metallics is interspersed with occasional splashes of bright turquoise, raspberry and yellow. The collection is starting to hit Topshop stores and Topshop.com starting now, so keep an eye out if you’re diggin’ any of these looks. Do you love it? Which pieces must you own? Stay tuned for more pics… Peep the look book after the jump…

i love the vintage glamour look. everything looks great and i was just thinking about getting a faux-fur this winter too.
Very nice, but I can’t see this being wearable in real life.
Wow I was JUST searching on ebay for a faux fur vest too! Topshop is just too good. O__O
I love these Topshop previews. I’m glad my faux fur vests and coats from last winter will still be on trend. The over-the-knee boots are at the top of my wish list for fall….as are some of the sequin pieces (which seem to be abundant at thrift stores for those who want the same look on a budget).
There is not one piece of clothing I don’t love!!! It all looks amazing although I won’t be able to wear certain pieces as I have gotten a bit bigger since I moved out of my parent’s house
i wish they had any of this stuff in Slovenia…
Wow! Looks great! Really like the overknee boots, ankle boots and sequins!
I love it but people would think I look like a hooker…
It is borderlining hooker’ish, so I guess we just have to really dress it up to avoid being stopped by middle-aged men on the street right? It will look fabulous if one pulls it off the right way though.
Lovee it
I must own those black over-knee boots& the black belt in the last pic
I’m all for a little glam, but these gals look like child prostitutes.
I wish topshop would come to san jose.
