Alexander Wang to Broadcast His Show in Times Square

Alexander Wang is taking fashion and technology to another level this season. Earlier I reported that he will be live streaming his Fall 2010 fashion show on Nick Knight’s website SHOWstudio on Saturday, February 13th at 5pm EST, today WWD reports that Wang became fixated with the idea of projecting the live feed onto a New York City wall- a Times Square billboard. “This is a New York brand, and so much of our inspiration is from here,” Wang continued, “I wanted to bring it to the people of New York and make it a part of the landscape.”

Wang has reached an agreement with American Eagle to project his show across the massive American Eagle LED screen outside the retailer’s flagship store at 46th Street and Broadway. The designer said he anticipates a small crowd of Alexander Wang fans and “a few confused tourists,” to take in his show (on a slight lag to provide for any technological snafus) at 6pm Saturday, February 13th. Will you be watching?

why don’t I live in New york? I’d like to be there so much. I think it’s going to be an intense experience. And I expect a huge wang-crowd and not just a few confused tourists.

I was there freezing my ass off since 5:50 pm and the video didn’t start until 7 pm. Only The Cut got the time right. It was an amazing experience though.
