Last night Vivienne Tam invited me as her guest to Asia Society’s Celebration of Asia Week: AllThingsArtASIA gala which she was honorary chair. The night started out at Asia Society and Museum for a cocktail reception featuring a fashion installation and silent auction by Vivienne Tam, Thuy Diep, Alia Khan, Auguste Soesastro, and more. Then onto Guastavinos for an elegant gala dinner with the main course cooked up by renowned guest chef Michael Bao Huynh and renowned pastry Chef Pichet Ong serves up the dessert.

Sotheby’s auctioneer Henry Howard-Sneyd led a lively auction, Vivienne Tam’s package consisting of a HP Butterfly Lovers Digital Clutch, VT Butterfly Rainbow Butterfly Print Silk Chiffon Long Shirtdress, Monster Butterfly Earphones, Dinner for 4 with VT and 2 tickets to her Spring 2011 fashion show (estimated value of $3000) auctioned off for $8500! And to top that off, after the auction the second highest bidder paid the same amount for a package as well. So in total Vivienne helped raise $17,000 that night! Amazing!

It was a fun night, good company, food and met a lot of great people. Many thanks to Vivienne Tam for inviting me!

Appetizer: Roasted Beet Salad with whipped goat cheese, English cucumber, toasted pecans and citrus Segments.

Entree: Bean curd black cod with cauliflower and coconut puree, preserved lemon with Thai curry green sauce.
