Liger Store Hong Kong

I first learned about Liger in Hong Kong when I was introduced to Hilary Tsui through a mutual friend via email a couple months ago, it was pretty cool to find out that she likes my blog. Hilary is a former actress married to HK popstar Eason Chan and is also a fashion icon in HK. Hilary and her partner Dorothy Hui, a fashion stylist, joined forces and created Liger, a hidden gem for edgy and cool designers’ clothing and accessories in HK.

A lot of stores in HK are hidden and pretty hard to find, I’ve noticed some of the coolest stores are often not on the ground floor. I met up with Hilary to check out the the original CWB store, a new store just opened at Silvercord TST. The brands at the store were all handpicked by the two, they often seek out new and interesting designers to carry at the store along with local HK brands. Since they both have great style, they’ve also created their own clothing line called ‘Oh My God’ which is quite popular amongst local celebrities and loyal shoppers.

One of my favorite brands in the store is TATA Baby, the baby line of T.A.T.A (Talking About The Abstraction), from Japan best known for their Hermes Birkin photo-printed canvas bags. The bags are really well made and light but most importantly the print is super real and detailed. There are many fakes in HK so be careful where you buy them. Liger is one of the only stores in HK that officially carries the line, if you want one make sure to put your name on waiting list. Besides Hilary, Kary Ng, Charlene Choi (Twins), Faye Wong, Cecilia Cheung and Do Do Cheng (which I saw today) are also fans of the bag. Hilary was super sweet and gifted me one, I chose the black and white print in the large size. Really wanted the camel color in the large size too but it was out of stock. Seriously love them all!

There are lots of great brands at the store that are hard to find in HK, I’m glad the duo brings in new and upcoming designers and introduces it to HK. Their philosophy is that they only carry brands/items they believe in and would personally wear themselves, so a lot of time you’ll see them rockin’ a lot of the pieces on their style blogs. Another popular item at the store are the MBT sandals, Hilary’s staple, are quite popular in HK with a ton of knockoffs. Other brands I really like are Yeah Right, Bless, KTZ, Borba Margo, Creature de Keis and Obese Plein.
