I normally don’t go past midtown but last night I made a trip up to East Harlem to celebrate Target‘s first Manhattan location at the East River Plaza. As you know, Target always knows how to throw a good party, not only was it star-studded but they had yummy food for all the guests! Think beef patties, jerk chicken, catfish and mini velvet cupcakes, everyone was enjoying the food rather than shopping haha! At the event I spotted Isabel and Ruben Toledo (they’re super cute together and nice), Stephen Burrows, Tyson Beckford (*removed my lil comment, the attn is on the new TARGET store*), Russell Simmons, Rev Run, Selita Ebanks, Kelly Rowland, Doug E. Fresh, Angie Martinez and Bobbito García. I bought a leopard skirt from Stephen Burrows and a bikini from Isabel and Ruben Toledo, cute stuff. Prior to the store’s public opening, the preview shopping event serves to honor the spirit of the Harlem community while highlighting a set of exclusive Harlem Designer Collections – a limited-edition collaboration series featuring designs from Isabel and Ruben Toledo, Stephen Burrows and Marcus Samuelsson. Target will be donating 5 percent of each product’s purchase price to a Harlem non-profit of the designer’s choice. The collection, ranging in price from $3.99 to $34.99, will be available for purchase in the East Harlem store beginning July 25, followed by select stores and on Target.com on August 1. The new Target store will be opening to the public on July 25, 2010, be sure to check it out! Target East Harlem UPDATE: Please keep on topic, this post is about the new Target store opening and the merchandise. I am freaking out Dolce VIta for Target???!!! I did not know about it! Thank you for sharing.
um… how could you confuse the most famous male model OF ALL TIME with anyone else? Also, you don't usually go past midtown? Damn, homie, and you like fashion? Harlem's got great style you're REALLY missing out.

the tyson and tyrese comment is just as good as anyone else confusing all Asians looking alike…at least you educated yourself by going beyond your safe mid town cocoon.bravo.
it's not about being "safe" not going pass midtown my BFF lives on 125th , it's about being LAZY!
Seriously. I used to live on 138th and B'way and it was totally safe too. It's about being too cool for school. I guess at least she said she goes as far as midtown. Other people won't go about 14th St. (eye roll)
i love that last picture of you on the subway platform!
p.s lmfao @ cereal box opening.
p.p.s girl, you must visit the other boro's more. hate when people have outerborophobia lol
I live in West Harlem, just moved here from LA. It's kinda crazy to see that so many people wouldn't deign to come past midtown or say things like "Anything past 96th street gives me nose bleeds". You're missing out! But looks like a fun event, nice pictures.
