T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab

How many gadgets does a blogger need? As many as possible and the newer the better. I’m a gadget geek and love trying out new things to make my life easier and more fun. This post is a bit overdue and have been sitting in my draft for the longest time, shot these photos while I was out in Florence, Italy. Here ya go…

In January I received a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab to play with and I’ve been bringing it to all my trips so far. It came especially handy when I’m on the go, if I needed to check on something quick I just pop it out since it has service from T-Mobile. Also when I needed some face time with my friends and family (it has dual cameras), I used the program called Tango, which is free video calling program and as long as the other party has the program installed you’re good to go. The quality is pretty smooth, no lagging from when I called several times. The 7-inch touch-screen tablet is smaller and lighter than my iPad so it’s easier to bring out and carry around the whole day without adding too much additional weight. The browser supports flash so I’m able to visit all the sites but from time to time the Tab lags, sometimes so bad that I’d have to restart the machine. I find that pretty much the same with all the Android phones I’ve tested, the lagging issue, hope it gets fixed quick. Another issue I found is the keypad touch is not perfected, sometimes what I tap is not what I get.

The dual cameras are perfect, I love that I’m able to take photos of myself without asking a stranger. There are also lots of free photo programs to download to enhance the photos. The photo quality is pretty good at 3 megapixel camera but the front facing camera is only 1.3 megapixel. The display is very bright and colors are crisps which makes browsing and playing games more enjoyable, I hate dullness lol. I play a lot of games, the Android Market has a lot of free games and apps to keep you busy for days. I especially loved how Angry Birds looked in a larger screen, it was definitely more fun…and it’s free! Another cool thing is if you have service or when you’re on WiFi and you have Google Voice installed your Tab can be used as a mobile phone as well. But please be sure to keep the Tab in your bag and use hands-free so people don’t think you’re crazy haha! Overall this is a great Tab and I love it. I’m not going to get all crazy about the tech stuff, if you want to learn more about it you can read it here.
