Ever since I’ve heard that Lady Gaga will be launching a perfume with Coty Beauty I’ve been waiting patiently to see the outcome. Finally, we get the first look from Gaga herself! Since Lady Gaga’s Fame perfume was leaked earlier than expected, Gaga tweets about it to her little monsters. Gaga tweets and says, “My perfume was designed for women, but a lot of my gay friends wear it. The First Ever Black Eau De Parfum.” She says the perfume smells like “tears of Belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.” The container is very pretty as well, it is deep purple/black with a gold, spiked top. The fragrance will hit shelves in September. What’s your thoughts?
As I mentioned previously I love SK-II products, I’ve used a few products and I love it. The brand launched two new products for spring, a Cellumination Essence EX and Cellumination Cream EX. SK-II recently conducted a Close Range Study that reveals that from a close range of 20cms, the skin’s micro tone unevenness and micro texture unevenness become visible, thus affecting the overall radiant aura of skin. While make-up and basic foundation can help skin look brighter from a further distance, the true radiant aura quality of a woman’s skin is revealed at a close range of 20cms. The newly formulated Cellumination Essence EX, which features Aura-Bright Cocktail EX, is said to give women highly defined radiant aura skin even up-close at 20cms.
I love nail polish so I’m super excited about M·A·C‘s permanent Nail Lacquer collection featuring 31 colours and 3 finishes. Available at Nordstrom and M·A·C Stores on July 5, 2012. Available August 2, 2012 in the permanent line.
Australian luxury skincare brand Jurlique introduces new whitening and age prevention productions created for Asian skin. The three product lines are the Rose Moisture Plus collection, the Purely Bright system, and Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Gel Mask. I’m personally not a big fan of whitening products (it’s big in Asia) but the Rose Moisture Plus smells sooooo good, I really like that. I’m excited to try some of the new products. Jurlique does not test any of its products on animals which is a plus for me.
The Purely Bright system is a collection of clinically-proven innovative whitening products that lightens skin naturally, without hydroquinone. The product was developed from the whitening trend that started in Asia and addresses the fact that Asian skin is prone to hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
The Rose Moisture Plus collection is a three-step skincare regimen that features Rose Moisture Plus Moisturizing Cleanser, Rosewater Balancing Mist, and Rose Moisture Plus Moisturizing Cream. The products feature rose hip oil, a miraculous ingredient that improves the texture and look of skin. The collection also contains abundant hydrating extracts such as aloe, marshmallow, avocado and macadamia oils, which protect against moisture-loss, a common issue with Asian skin. The Rosewater Balancing Mist is a best-seller in Asia and can contain up to 8,000 rose petals in a single bottle.
Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Gel Mask is a 10-minute at-home mini-spa treatment that delivers antioxidants directly to the skin with a burst of hydration addresses multiple common skincare issues. It addresses the fact that Asian skin tends to lose moisture more easily, by incorporating key hydrating ingredients such as saccharide isomerate, a natural form of sugar that allows moisture to remain in the skin and the extract of the Cassia Angustifolia seed, which acts as a wrinkle-filler and delivers intense hydration. Both of these ingredients also fight signs of skin-aging. Another common issue with Asian skin is that it can be oily, and Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Gel Mask utilizes Willow Bark Extract, a natural alternative to salicylic acid, to control oil.
Laura Mercier Cinema Noir Fall 2012 Collection
Laura’s inspiration for 2012 draws from her background as a fine art painter and focuses on the mood and attitude of women through different art periods. For the fall season, Laura was inspired by Hollywood stars in the late 1940’s—the era when black and white film transitioned into colour. This classic period featured intellectual beauties like Ingrid Bergman, Katherine Hepburn and Rita Hayworth, and their signature looks in films had a sensual quality—slightly colourized, sexy yet subdued. The overall cinematic feeling is one of vintage charm, strong romanticism and an ultra-feminine appeal.
Makeup is modern and dramatic. Eyes wear muted shades in smoky mixes of teals and chocolates, blended together to create a true sultry appeal. Lashes are long and voluminous tipped in burgundy, defining and enhancing the eyes. Lips have a creamy soft finish in shades of roses and mauves, while cheeks are luminous and glowing. Nails are painted in soft shades of nude and cocoa.
