I’ve been dying to tell you guys about my MAC Cosmetics collaboration since I knew about it, it was seriously hard to keep a secret from you all! I’m finally able to break the news that I’ve created my first lipglass with one of my favorite beauty brand, MAC! I’m sure some of you may have guessed it was a collaboration since I’ve posted about my Toronto trip last month, I still have a bunch of photos to share from the short trip. Some of you may have also read on WWD that MAC asked over 80 bloggers to submit their ideas and chose their favorite 9, so this is not about luck lol! I also got to meet 8 other wonderful beauty bloggers that were chosen, some are old and new friends! My inspiration for the lipglass color derived from Wong Kar Wai’s movie, 2046, it was an unforgettable one. I’m a big fan of his works and love all his movies. I was very much inspired by the movie and thought it would be a great idea to base my lipglass on Zhang Zi Yi’s qipao (cheongsam). The intense red color is sexy and very mysterious, and you can also say red is very much related to China’s flag color. I’ve also noticed MAC hasn’t done a collection based on the qipao, I’ve put a lot of thought into it. And of course I had to name the lipglass after myself right? Hence the name nitro:licious 2046. Many thanks to MAC Chemist, Stephen Lau, who mixed Lady Gaga’s first lipglass, for helping me with my color! My question is, are you going to buy my lipglass?! Hope you all like my color as much as I do!! So honored to be part of this first MAC bloggers collaboration! Stay tuned for more pics…
MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions collection will be available exclusively online at www.maccosmetics.com on June 21 through August 2, 2011! Check out some of the behind-the-scenes photos from the trip and also the collection after the jump…
What a great way to ring in Chinese New Year! So happy that my H&M “My New York” fashion video is finally out, I’ve been waiting for over 2 months for it! I was so excited to be approached by H&M back in November to shoot the video to introduce my hometown, plus everyone knows how I feel about H&M. The video is a like personal “city guide,” the episode is in total around 3-4 minutes, so there was only room for 3-4 spots. Choosing spots was very very hard because there are so many great places in NYC, I’m born and raised here so I have lots to share but I think I got some good spots in the video, right?! Filming took place on November 12th, a few days before the Lanvin for H&M fashion show, from 10am to 5pm! Getting footage for a 3-4 minute episode was lots of work and long hours but definitely worth it and was so fun. I still feel weird watching myself on video, I don’t think I’ll get over it haha so please bear with me. I hope you guys enjoyed the episode! Many thanks to H&M, NOBU 57, JNBY, Flight Club, The Sweet Life, my bro Steven and YM (for shooting behind-the-scene pics and being a cameo haha)! PS. Thanks to all the readers that emailed me and commented about the video before I even posted it, xoxo!) There was an address mistake in the first video so I wanted to wait till the updated one released today before posting, hence the first video was deleted on YouTube. One of my favorite footwear brands Nine West asked me what my 2011 “style resolution” would be and it got me thinking. Perhaps this year I should wear less black? I’m not sure if I can keep this style resolution since I love wearing all black everything but I’m definitely incorporating more colors into my wardrobe. Check out my feature on the Nine West site.
Remember I posted about this shoot last year? Well, I forgot about it until I passed by a magazine shop in Hong Kong yesterday and saw a LeSportsac Japan brand book. I love that Asia has these kinds of books that comes with gift of purchase made especially for the books/magazines. When I did the shoot for LeSportsac last year, I thought it was like an insert in a magazine didn’t know they would actually sell it. Pretty cool. Went through my old files and found the pics, I like the picture so even though it’s a bit late I still wanted to post it.
It’s a Hellz day, I’m the “Blogger of the Week” on the Hellz Bellz blog, What The Hellz. As you know, Hellz Bellz is my favorite streetwear brand and Lanie is one of my good friends, some I’m happy to be featured on their blog. Thanks to the Hellz crew and of course Brittany for the interview. Keep doin’ ya thing. Read the interview here.
And also, bigups to William Yan for including me in his “24 TASTEMAKERS In 24 HOURS For 2010″ project. Check it out here.

A little shameless self-promotion, I’m the latest “Blogging Babe” on Glamour.com‘s Slave To Fashion daily style blog. There’s a funny story behind this feature, it’s actually a year late lol. No, I wasn’t procrastinating (don’t think anyone would wait a year), just so happens that this email was sent to an email address I didn’t realize I had (yes, I have many)! So last month when I had email problems, I checked my server and found this request. Big thanks to Tracey from Glamour for the feature. Check out the feature here. |
