Today, Levi’s unveiled a new capsule collection designed in collaboration with Obey, a collection of street-inspired styles for men co-designed by Shepard Fairey. Obey x Levi’s is a celebration of the renegade spirit embraced by both pioneering partners and features denim silhouettes, distress details, and finishes inspired by Fairey’s personal collection of Levi’s jeanswear and collaboratively developed by Levi’s and Fairey. The line consists of a tightly-edited assortment of eight essential menswear pieces that showcase fits, finishes, rips, patches and design details selected by Fairey and inspired by his personal collection of Levi’s denim. Each piece is a hand-customized original, punctuated by “spray paint” drip details, stenciled art imagery, pins and “wear and repair” finishing touches. The collection is replete with exclusive branding details including an “Obey” Giant tab-device that lives alongside the iconic Levi’s Red Tab and a “Two-Horse” rear waistband patch that also includes a stylized “Obey” Giant face. The capsule collection will be available exclusively at select Levi’s Store locations in New York City, San Francisco, Chicago and Santa Monica and at www.levi.com. A limited number of pieces will also be available at www.obeyclothing.com. The collection will be available starting today and will range in price from $34.50 to $148. To commemorate the launch of the collection, on October 29 Fairey will unveil a series of four new poster designs at a live art installation outside The Levi’s Store in New York City’s Times Square. Once Fairey completes the installation, he will meet-and-greet event participants while autographing free museum-quality reproductions of his new posters. The series of four limited-edition Shepard Fairey posters will be given away as a free gift, while supplies last, with the purchase of any item from the Obey x Levi’s collection in the following Levi’s Store locations: Times Square and Soho in New York City, Union Square in San Francisco, Santa Monica and Chicago. For spring 2010, Rich & Skinny adds new washes, distressed denim, and cut-off shorts to the collection, I’m liking the new khaki-colored jeans and acid jeans they’re pretty nice. Rich & Skinny is one of my favorites, love their Super Skinny style, they fit perfectly. Can’t wait till the new collection releases. More pics after the jump…
Diesel has always been creative especially with their denim collection, for fall/winter 2009 they launched a new exciting collection called Flash For Fun which features glow-in-the-dark jeans and T-shirts together with fluorescent trainers and underwear. The collection, developed by the Diesel creative team headed by Creative Director Wilbert Das, has been conceived for those who play hard day and night, 24 hours non-stop, without taking the time to change in between. A special fluorescent coating, devised to be glaring under UV lights, is layered on denim and cotton. Through this treatment, Flash For Fun pieces are discreet during the day and reveal extremely bright details and stitches at night, presumably at clubs. On denim, hidden graphics are revealed under black lights. Graphics are visible when exposed to darkness thanks to UV lights. Stitches and back patches appear on denim when it’s dark (so go party in them!) together with the distinctive Diesel pocket stripe, presented in a dedicated acid color version. Next Tuesday, Diesel is hosting a party to celebrate the Flash For Fun collection, this is the perfect time to rock ‘em glow-in-the-dark jeans! Fun, fun fun, love it! The difference is not only the price but the Silence & Noise Rally Jacket seems darker and has faux leather on the sleeves, shoulder and collar where as the Alexander Wang Faded Jean Jacket has real leather on only the sleeves but when you compare the two they’re pretty similar. For those of you not wanting to splurge, this jacket is a great alternative for $138 which is almost four times cheaper than the original. But if you do have the loot to spend, def go for the Alexander Wang version which is currently available at Shopbop.com. Both jackets are cute, I like. Would you cop the cheaper version or splurge $595 for the real deal? More pics after the jump…
I woke up this morning and the first thing I remembered from my dream was the Siwy Sophie Skinny Jeans, I’m not sure why but I think it’s because I’ve been seeing this on everyone’s blogs! I’m quite obsessed with the black pair, the sheer mesh panels are so hot- but the price ($242) seems a bit overpriced. I was going to get them but I overspent this week and plus Christopher Kane for Topshop killed me a little. I guess I may need to opt for a DIY on these babies!
