The BlackBerry Bold smartphone is sleek and sexy it will be mine when it releases. According to the official press release, the Bold is “crafted from premium materials, inside and out and it is designed to give business professionals and power users unprecedented functionality and performance.” The black leather-like exterior and silver chrome finished frame is so stylish and what makes me want this phone, not to mention the incredible speed (tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks around the world), power and functionality the phone has to offer. Quoted from Gizmodo, “available this summer on AT&T 3G, with a T-Mobile 3G edition in the wings—the handset can handle 850/1900/2100Mhz for HSDPA/UMTS, plus T-Mo’s 1700MHz band”. So kiddies, gotta hold our horses till at least a few more months! More info over at Gizmodo.

igoogle-d_g.jpg

Just as I was searching for something on Google, when I entered the homepage I saw Jeff Koons‘ take on the Google logo so my eyes scroll down and notice “What happens when great art mixes with your homepage? iGoogle Artist Themes.” Google has collaborated with many designers/artists to create themes to personalize your Google homepage. You can “add your choice of news, email, games, and more for a page that’s as useful as it is beautiful.”

Frederique Daubal x Nokia 7900 Crystal Prism

mood-shot-1.jpg

As I mentioned before, fashion designers have been tapping into the cell phone industry to create unique fashionable phones. Nokia has collaborated with French graphic and fashion designer Frédérique Daubal on a special edition phone that fuses style with the latest technology. The Nokia 7900 Crystal Prism graphic design was created by Daubal, whose signature illustrations have caught the imagination of the design and fashion worlds, leading to creations and concepts for Paul Smith, Colette, Swear, Gas Tokyo and Bumble & Bumble to name a few.

In creating this design, inspiration was taken from the way in which crystals are formed in precious stones and minerals, the covers have been etched with laser technology. ‘For the backplate we were catching different intensities of light and its multiple refractions,’ says Daubal. ‘Looking through a diamond gives you that experience’. The color combination is rich burgundy and black which gives off a very sleek vibe, to compliment the handset, Nokia has designed a range of accessories including an earpiece, which is color-matched with the back cover, a phone pouch and a textile print of Daubal’s elaborate illustration.

The Nokia 7900 Crystal Prism comes with a 2 megapixel camera, 3G technology for fast and easy downloads and browsing, 1 GB of internal memory and a music player. The user can also personalize the color of the light in the keymat choosing from 49 different colors. The phone is now available for a retail price of 375EUR (exclusive of subsidies and regional taxes). Click here to learn more about the phone…

Prada Phone by LG - Silver Edition

lg_ke850_01.jpg

The first Prada phone by LG (black edition) launched back in March 2007 and sold over 700,000 handsets, seeing the success LG Korea has announced that the LG-KE850 will be released in silver. The silver edition will soon be available in 18 European countries including England, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The only difference revealed at this stage is that the silver edition will have a full touchscreen QWERTY keyboard. via Hypebeast / Akihabara News

The silver edition is pretty hot, my friend has the black one the problem is that the case will scratch up the screen if you constantly slide it in and out. Other than that flaw the phone is pretty dope, very light too.

Designer Cell Phones

designers_x_mobile.jpg

Designers have been tapping into the cell phone industry for quite some time now, it’s going to be even bigger now. Nowadays function is not the only thing we look for, we demand more stylish handsets. According to WWD, the mobile phone industry is the biggest consumer electronics market in the world, with more than one billion cell phones produced each year, and industry experts predict that by 2011 more than 200 million mobile phones a year will come from nontraditional brands, including fashion ones. Be prepared to see a roster of designers releasing handsets in the near future. Which designer phone would you buy?

During the past few months, an expanding smorgasbord of fashion brands has unveiled cell phone ventures, including Giorgio Armani, Versus, Mandarina Duck, Ted Baker and Levi’s, which will launch its embossed-metal handset in the U.S. and Asian markets this spring. The LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned Swiss luxury timepiece giant Tag Heuer also revealed its entry into the arena — a first for a timepiece maker — with its release planned for the second quarter of 2008.

Elsewhere, channeling style and function, ModeLabs has used embossed stainless steel for Levi’s first cell phone, which comes with an attachable chain belt. Consumers will also be able to log on to the Levi’s Web site to have their name engraved on the phone, which will retail for around $600.

According to sources, Dior and Swarovski are also said to be preparing cell phones for 2008, along with two luxury jewelers whose names could not immediately be learned.

Product Review: Canon PowerShot SD950 IS

canon-powershot-sd950.jpg

I’ve just received my new Canon PowerShot SD950 IS camera this Friday, Canon sent it over for review (thank you!!). At first use I didn’t notice the difference between my camera (Canon PowerShot SD800 IS) and this new model but after a few snaps I’ve noticed that the color and quality is so much better (even my friends noticed). I am loving this new upgrade, another function I really like is that I don’t need to turn the dial to preview my pictures, there’s a newly added button for previewing - very convenient since I have to look at every single picture after I take it. The shutter speed is also faster and the image stabilizer works better, did I mention its 12.1 megapixels - wow! I’m loving it, I’ve been using it this whole weekend and can’t stop raving about how the quality and color has improved from the previous model! It is simply amazing!

My next outfit posts will be photos taken with this camera stay tuned for that post! This camera makes a great Christmas present!

edit:
I forgot to mention how glad I am when I powered on and saw that there’s a battery indicator there! No more guessing when my battery will die on me! Great and important addition, since I use my camera everyday and don’t charge it until the battery is dead!
