Nike x Cassette Playa Blazer

cassette_playa-nike-blazer.jpg

Sneaker News has the latest scoop on an upcoming collaboration between Nike and Cassette Playa on a Blazer! Carrie Mundane, designer of Cassette Playa has worked with M.I.A. and is known for her crazy use of colors and prints. I was quite surprised that the Blazer is not as flashy and wild as her clothing line, you can check out her spring/summer ‘08 collection featuring the Blazer in the shoot in the meantime. No further details or release date as of yet. Stay tuned for more info forthcoming…

Nike WMNS Air Stab Premium - ‘Solar’

p1000051.jpg

Style: 317806-261
Color: Cocoa/Pinkfire II/Red Earth/Solar Orange
Release Date: July 2008

More hotness to be released to the women’s market, Nike is set to drop their last women’s Air Stab Premium this July so don’t sleep on these. This Air Stab is the same insight as the Outbreak Pinkfire II you’ve seen previously where the “clear” concept is taken to another level with the added color and texture but this time its overlaid on fabric adding depth. Both should be releasing around the same time. I honestly was never a fan of Stabs but these are sick and they’re actually the first pair that I ever liked! Bigups to Laurel for the dope sample, I can’t wait to rock these out!

Converse x Kurt Cobain Collection

Converse x Kurt Cobain - Chuck Taylor All Star Lyric Edition (Black)

To commemorate one of rock’s most prolific songwriters and reluctant successes, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Converse teamed up with Courtney Love to design a limited edition range that feature artwork and scribbles borrowed from Kurt Cobain’s personal notebooks. Distressed in the way Kurt Cobain wore them, the shoes provide a rarely seen glimpse into the head of this musical and lyrical genius with sketches that display his hopes, dreams and lyrics from amazing songs such as “Come As You Are”. Often pictured wearing Chuck Taylor All Star, Jack Purcell or One Star shoes, the collection includes versions of all three shoes with wear and fray detailing and Kurt Cobain’s signature subtly embroidered on the shoe’s outer.

The collection is available in black and white versions with lyric, notebook scribbles or distressed detailing, shoes retail at $50 - $65 and sizing will be available for women and men. Look out for these shoes nationwide at specialty retailers and online at www.converse.com beginning in June (confirmed by Converse rep).

Release dates has been pushed back from May to June, but it’s definitely worth the wait - I especially like the Chuck Taylor All Star Lyric Edition in black.

Last month this pair of bright floral-printed Nike Dunk Low dropped at Purchaze, now these are available at Urban Outfitters in a full size run (WMNS 6 - 10). Keep Fall/Holiday 2008 Collection Preview

The Tataum & The Guerra / Holiday ‘08

I’m very particular when it comes to footwear, other than the regular brands I normally wear I tend not to buy brands I’m not too familiar with - especially with sneakers. Keep has been on my radar for a hot min already but I never had a chance to see them in person and feel them out. Yesterday, at The Foundation showroom Tara show-offed the Keep fall/holiday 2008 collections. I was quite impressed, the shoes are all cruelty free and well made, best of all they’re fully padded for extra comfort. My favorite style is the Guerra, a hi-top sneaker and the new water resistant (DWR treated canvas) Tatum boot.

This fall/holiday 2008 collection focuses on the power of symbols, the addition of new water resistant and winter friendly styles. Due to popular demand, they are sizing up the shoes to US Women’s 15/US Men’s 13.5, so now the men that love Keep can rock them too! The fall ‘08 line starts to drop on July 25th, so keep your eyes peeled!
