Rogan for Target @ Barneys - 05.10.2008

img_0042.jpg

Yesterday I trekked up to Barneys with Ada to check out the Rogan for Target collection, it departs today. When I first saw the collection preview I wasn’t impressed at all, there were only a couple of items that appealed to me but the clothes and leopard print definitely looked better in person. I wasn’t able to view the full collection because most of the stuff was already sold out, there were mostly sizes 1 and 13 left. I really wanted the leopard print beach towel, but someone snatched up the last one on the mannequin before me so I’ll just have to wait till the release on May 18th at Target. I ended up buying a pair of leopard short shorts, but haven’t tried it yet - all purchases came with a reusable tote!

Rogan for Target @ Barneys New York

After posting the preview of the Rogan for Target collection many people were disappointed, but not Barneys New York. According to FWD, Julie Gilhart, the store’s fashion director, persuaded Target to launch the Rogan for Target collection at her Manhattan and Beverly Hills flagships in advance of their launch at the superstore. The collection will arrive in NYC and LA on May 8th and 15th, respectively, and will be carried on the Co-op floor. The pieces will only be in stock for five days-after that, shoppers will have to wait for the mass debut. The official launch of the capsule collection will be available at Target and Target.com starting May 18th through June 18th.

Shaun White for Target

Shaun White rockin’ his Target designs…

Remember I told you guys that Shaun White was sitting in the table in back of me at Kittichai on April 7th? Turns out that the multi-talented 21-year old snowboard and skateboard champion and Olympic gold medalist was in town to unveil his limited edition clothing line for Target. Both Shaun and Jesse were there to show the collection and explain their inspirations, though the range is for boys and young men there were quite a few pieces that I can see myself rockin’ - especially the t-shirts. I love the blue monster character that Jesse made up, I can’t get over it haha.

Shaun White for Target is a stylish yet accessible collection of t-shirts, wovens, shorts, and denim for boys and young men available exclusively at Target this fall just in time for back to school. Designed by Shaun in collaboration with his brother Jesse, Shaun White for Target draws its inspiration from the life and times of our era’s most recognizable action sports athlete. Stay tuned for the full collection preview coming soon…

Rogan for Target - Collection Preview

New York City based designer Rogan Gregory has successfully brought a powerful environmentally conscious voice to fashion. With a design sensibility that focuses on construction, pattern, shape and a devotion to Earth-sensitive materials, Gregory has acquired a cult following among fashion fanatics globally.

“My Target collection will show women that beautifully designed, affordable alluring clothing can also be environmentally friendly.” - Rogan Gregory

News first broke last December that Rogan will be collaborating with Target to release a capsule collection under their successful GO International designer collections. Then in March, he did an interview with Time Out stating that his collection will consists of only swimwear which I’m not interested in. Earlier today it has been confirmed that Rogan’s Target collection will be an “organic clothing line that’s safari-inspired”. Indeed it is, there are quite a few pieces of leopard, zebra and tiger prints and all of the cotton used in the collection is 100% certified organic. I’m not feelin’ this collection, its very “blah”, but may be a couple of pieces that I may cop like the Roll-Up Sleeve Sweater, Sleeveless Hooded Sweatshirt and Linen Striped Vest. Do you like this collection?

The range will be available at Target stores and Target.com starting May 18th to June 28th. Thanks for the pictures Ginny L.!

Rogan for Target - Update

Back in March, Rogan Gregory did an interview with Time Out and said his Target collection will be all swimwear. Yesterday I received an email from one of my readers (thanks Vicky) that work at Target, the email goes:

I work for Target and I just wanted to let you know that the Rogan collection may not be just swimwear. I’m not sure why the designer said it was, but there was a tiny article in Target’s magazine for employees this month to the contrary. I don’t have the magazine with me so I’m going off memory, but it stated that the Rogan collection will be an organic clothing line that’s safari-inspired. They even showed a picture of a model wearing a leopard print cotton dress and another wearing a shirt and vest. I think the collection will be coming out mid-May. I would hope that Target wouldn’t give its employees misinformation, but since no other news outlet has released new info about Rogan, I’m left wondering what’s really going on. - Vicky

I was going to wait till Vicky gets a scan of the article to post this up but I just checked TFS and found a scanned ad from the Rogan for Target collection. The collection will be available from May 18th - June 28th, stay tuned for more images! Check out the collection preview here!
