Did any of you shop the Maison Martin Margiela with H&M collection this morning? How long did you line up for and what did you get or wasn’t able to get? Super curious. Last night I attended the pre-sale event and it was cray already, I didn’t end up getting anything since my sizes were pretty much gone and it was just a bit overwhelming. My mind wasn’t really there, I spent most of the time watching people ha! But I do really like the collection, I may stop by H&M later to see what’s left after work. Yesterday, some of you may have witnessed H&M sending sign-bearing, fashion soldiers clad in white aprons marching through high traffic neighborhoods in your city. 300 people hit the streets of San Francisco in anticipation of next week’s launch of Maison Martin Margiela with H&M. While San Francisco was the only US city that had the demonstrations but eight other countries like Hong Kong and Singapore also hosted similar marches in anticipation of next week’s global launch. Hong Kong had a pretty cool concept, they had local actor/singer Shawn Yue shoot the demonstration and I spot a couple of celebrities in the mix as well like 曾江 Kenneth Tsang Kong and 周柏豪 Pakho Chau. Wish H&M did it in NYC, would of been quite interesting to see it in person. Did you see this in your city? The collection consists of apparel and accessories for both men and women. It’s less than a week till the launch of the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection, are you ready? A couple weeks ago I paid a visit to H&M’s showroom to check out the collection in person (other than seeing it at the NYC launch party on 10.23). I personally love the collection so I was excited to play dress-up and see the pieces in detail. Being that the women’s collection is pretty much oversized, there are certain pieces that doesn’t work on a petite frame. I find it interesting that the women’s collection is oversized and the men’s is fitted but I personally LOVE wearing oversized pieces and I’m definitely going to try to pickup some men’s pieces too. The shoes are amazing, it runs true to size (for me at least) and are nicely made. And I must have all of the accessories and bags, love every piece. How crazy does the women’s duvet coat look on me? It would of been perfect for when Hurricane Sandy hit and I didn’t have power and heat, super warm and cozy. Check out some of the pieces in detail below. I can’t wait! The British artist, photographer and film-director Sam Taylor-Johnson has directed an exclusive print and film campaign for the Maison Martin Margiela collaboration with H&M. Shot on a deserted Paris street corner, the atmospheric images feature models such as Julia Nobis and Jamie Bochert, as well as the dancer Cyril Baldy. The campaign will appear on television worldwide from November 8th as well as online and outdoor, with the collection being launched on November 15th in around 230 stores worldwide. |
